Airbnb Host Guides


 

CHALLENGE

Make Hosting Simple, Beautiful, and Brag-Worthy

Because updating your Airbnb shouldn’t feel like solving a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces.

 

Loftium (acquired by Flyhomes) helped homeowners turn their spare spaces into short-term rentals — a win-win for affordable homeownership and extra income. But when it came time for hosts to set up their spaces, things got… messy.

Furniture orders, decor selections, and photo prep instructions were scattered across emails and spreadsheets. Hosts needed clarity. The Loftium team needed consistency. Everyone needed fewer “Wait, where does this lamp go again?” moments.

 
 

Give hosts the confidence (and tools) to get their spaces guest-ready — fast.

I set out to create a collection of clear, visual, and easy-to-follow guides that would make setup feel straightforward and even a little fun. Think: less corporate manual, more “I’ve got this.”

I also reworked the content in the guides to be informative blog posts and social media content, helping to increase visiblity and engagement with the Loftium brand.

Deliverables

I designed a full suite of host materials that worked together like a playbook:

  • Step-by-step setup guides showing exactly how to implement Loftium’s design updates

  • Design style selection templates to standardize looks across listings

  • Furniture layout visuals so hosts could see, not just read, what to do

  • Email templates and checklists for communication, received items, and delivery tracking

    • Partnered with Engineering Team to create an App for hosts to use for confirming delivered items

All created using Canva, Google Docs, Notion and Loftium’s internal communication systems — built to be easily updated and shared with new hosts at scale.

 
 
 

IMPACT

The guides became a quiet game-changer.

  • Renewing hosts could update their listings faster and with less confusion

  • Support teams saw a drop in repetitive setup questions

  • Photography prep improved — leading to higher-quality listings and faster go-live timelines

This project taught me that design and content aren’t just about aesthetics — they’re about building trust. When people know exactly what to do and feel supported doing it, everything else clicks into place (yes, even that lamp).
